ABOUT ACCUPLACER TESTING
For certain dual credit courses, students must have a qualifying score to demonstrate that they are "program ready." There are a few ways you can demonstrate program-readiness:
- Score in the appropriate range on the PSAT taken during your sophomore year of high school.
- If you do not score high enough on particular sub-sections of the PSAT, you will be asked to take the Dual Credit Accuplacer test in the spring of your sophomore year or in the semester prior to enrollment in the dual credit course. You can take each Accuplacer sub-test only 3 times in 365 days.
- In particular courses, a junior or senior with 4-6 semesters of high school completed and a cumulative GPA of 2.6 can be considered "program ready" in reading and writing. This would exempt these students from taking the reading and writing Accuplacer tests. GPA will NEVER eliminate the need for a qualifying math score.
